Skill set: 

• Strong technical background with 5-6 years of developer experience in J2EE or Unix/C++ platform.
• Should be able to understand product/project requirements and develop software.
• Less focus on project management aspects and more focus on technical, functional and quality areas.
• Good team building and management skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Management and Delivery

Responsible for the team’s successful delivery of the projects within its portfolio, developing strategies and solutions which ensure that quality, financial and output targets are met in a way which achieves the projects’ objectives and the contribution of those projects to local, sub-regional and regional strategies.

Responsible for the team’s support for projects in the development phase, specifically ensuring that project delivery staff use their expertise to influence the project’s governance and structure, contribute to appraisal, produce monitoring and evaluation plans for the lifetime of the project and ensure robust contracting.

• Resource Management

Ensure the team has sufficient resources to deliver its project portfolio and escalate this as an issue where resources are insufficient.

Develop strategies, plans and annual processes to ensure the timely submission, appraisal and approval of scheme delivery/business plans

• Quality Management

Ensure the software delivery process meets all the software delivery, project management, security and various other standards set by the organization.

Ensure the delivered software meets all quality standards set by the organization and clients

• Risk Management

Ensure project delivery in accordance with RFP’s processes and procedures, with particular reference to the Project Management Framework and thereby including project structures, controls and governance, change control, risk management, stakeholder communications and reporting.

Attend client service review meetings covering performance, service improvements, to analyse risk, quality and processes

• Budget Management

Undertake cost control on project and contracts, Cost optimization during project execution, Timely completion of execution of projects, Optimization of resources for delivery across projects.

• Project Scorecard and reporting

Responsibility for ensuring all project data on the Project Management System (PMS) is comprehensive, high quality, reliable and up to date. Use expertise and knowledge to develop project management best practice and continuous improvement within the team, in line with the client’s Project Management Maturity Model.
